Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! This is the third one I've created. I have not been good at blogging in the past. Maybe third time's a charm? For those of you who know me well, the title of this blog makes perfect sense. If you've had the pleasure of drinking with me in recent years, you understand why I chose the pre-made background with a wine glass on it. (Unfortunately, there was not a pre-made background with a rum and pineapple drink haha.) I think wine and I will become even better friends than we are now as I read through hundreds of pages of text over the next four years. Drinking a glass of wine while reading difficult text sounds much better than accomplishing the task with water. :o)

I created this blog to document my journey across the country and my time in graduate school for everyone who wants to experience it with me. I will blog every day during my trip (as long as there is wi-fi in our hotel.) Once I arrive in NC, I hope to blog once per week so you can follow me on my crazy busy journey through school.

My mom and I will begin our 10-day road trip to NC tomorrow morning. I have no idea where we will end up tomorrow. I think it is somewhere random in southern California. Stay tuned for news about my journey. I will also post pictures of the beautiful places and landmarks we see. We will hike in every city, so be prepared to see a lot of nature photos.
